A concept for an illustrated cover for Condé Nast Traveller magazine.
As one of the many people who had their holiday cancelled as a result of COVID-19 I found myself thinking about the travel companies who have also lost their clients. What do they fill their glossy magazine covers with now that the ability to book a holiday is gone? This illustration depicts my holiday daydreaming, with Condé Nast encouraging us to plan for the holidays ahead.
Due to lockdown restrictions I had to use the resources available, so I used my home studio to create a whimsical style self portrait. I then combined this image with one of my photographs from a shoot in Canada in 2014. I used this photography composition as a template in illustrator.
